Meet Anita

I have officially started the Klepto King Challenge.. well I made a Klepto Kween instead. 

This is "Anita Steel" (I know, lame right? But I just couldn't help it!) 

I love her eyes, they are just recoloured EA eyes but I wanted something dramatic and something that sort of stood out since one of the requirements for this challenge is that the Sim must where all black. 

Her traits include the required Klepto, Mooch and Evil, and I paired that up with Friendly and Irresistible so that she could easily make friends. 

After arriving at her new digs, she immediately spotted her neighbour out by the curb and ran across the street to meet him. Luckily, he was making his living as a criminal so they hit it off and had lots to talk about. 

**I didn't realize the only way I could get at the scrapbook photos was to upload to the official site and then get them from there. I will have to go back and do that, I just can't at this time  so I will do just a quick update**

She made nice and mooched both food and money from her new friend. She also went into the house and stole the toilet, a coffee table and a cute little lamp that was on the table. I was trying for the stereo in the room but it was a no go! Oh well :)  Her new friends then tried to mooch money from her and she ran away and back to her house to place her new 'borrowed' house items. 

Another Challenge to Try

I've done The Legacy Challenge. A few times, and I was searching Mod The Sims for some new challenges to try, like that Klepto King Challenge. I've also found The Random Legacy Challenge as well. I think that I want to do this, it sounds very interesting. The rules can be found on their blog which you can find right HERE

I will do a page for my Klepto Challenge and my Random Legacy at the top of my blog so that if anyone is interested in reading about my families you just have to follow my blog to do so.

I'm excited again about doing a legacy type challenge. They are very time consuming but I already have a story line in mind :)

Download Frenzy

So, I've been going download crazy and haven't really been playing the game much. I love getting new clothes, hair, lots... everything for my Simmies. I need to wrap my head around some of these tutorials on how to actually start creating my own custom content, some things I just don't get. It's much more difficult than it was in The Sims 2 I am finding.

I've been making sure to check in with The Sims Resource for their daily freebies, and have gotten a lot from Mod The Sims as well. I'm trying to figure out the whole slider thing, what I need and don't need and such. There is so much that I haven't done as far as custom content goes, for example I have no hacks at all. Lots of people talk about different hacks and I'm intrigued though I haven't bit the bullet and given it a try yet. I just might on my other computer if I can get things set up the way that I want to.

Off to read some more tutorials and see if I can figure things out! I hope to upload one of my sim family stories, I did start a new family, 2 sisters that are now alone in the world, the older sister has taken charge and her younger sister (still a teenager) is angry at the world and her older sister for making them live the way that they do.. with little money (they only inherited enough to buy a small modest home with no luxuries) and her sister is spending time gardening and fishing and trying to live cheaply. It will be interesting to see what trouble the little sister can cause in town, she's already been mooching money from the neighbours and wanting to cause problems.

I Found A New Challenge.

So I was searching around for a new challenge to play in my Sims 3 game. I did the usual google search and came up with a post that lead me to Mod The Sims website and the board of all the challenges that people had created. I found one called The Klepto King challenge by Mr Alex  You can check out the rules by clicking HERE

I am also going to post there here as well though. I want to post all the rules to the different challenges that I am going to attempt, along with a blog of my family along the way. I think it will be fun and I would love to see what other people are doing, and enjoy reading other people's Sims stories.

So here are the rules for The Klepto King (or Kween) Challenge by Mr Alex. (as copied from MTS site)

The "Klepto King" Challenge  

Main Goal: To see how much your house is worth by the time your sim reaches the ripe of age of 90.

Setting up the Challenge

1. Create a sim. They must be a Young Adult. They can be any gender (I called this challenge Klepto King for the alliteration!  ) Looks wise: They must wear all black for all of their ourfits, everything else is up to you.
2. Their traits MUST include Kleptomaniac, Mooch, and Evil.
3. Their lifetime wish must be Master-Thief.
4. Purchase the house called "The Monotone". It must be UNFURNISHED. If you want to play in Riverview, please copy this house over.



5. You will see that your house is equipped with the essentials.
6. Buy the most expensive bed (four poster).
7. You are ready to try and become the Klepto King!

Rules

- You are NOT allowed to buy ANYTHING from buy mode. EVER. Everything MUST be stolen from other people's houses. (Yes, you will end up with a very quirky mis-matched house! )
- You are NOT allowed a burglar alarm (The Monotone house shouldn't have one anyway). If you get burgled, that's karma for you! 
- You are NOT allowed a job. EVER.
- ALL money and food must be made through mooching off other sims. (You can eat from the fridge if you really want, but this is going to cut into your already miniscule amount of cash!)
- You CANNOT steal or sell seeds.
- If you want, you can steal other sims vegetables by harvesting them. You can then either sell, or harvest these  Obviously, this isn't counted in the game as "stealing" so you can help yourself to as much as you like! You CANNOT however grow vegetables on your own lot.
- You CAN steal stuff from community lots.
- Seeing as Klepto's like shiney jewels, you can also make money through cutting gems.
- In the case of metals + space rocks, you can only sell these. You cannot smelt them.
- You CANNOT make money through guitar tips.
- Money made can ONLY be spent on extending the house, hiring a maid, repairman, or babysitter.
- Extending the house includes anything in Build Mode that CANNOT be stolen, e.g. driveways, swimming pools, windows, doors etc. Please remember that plants CAN be stolen.
- You can also get money from selling some of your stolen goods. However, please bear in mind that the goal is to have the highest worth of house, so you want to keep as many objects as possible!
- For instructions on how to steal from a house, see below.
- Once you have stolen the most you can that day (3 items) you CANNOT steal from that same house again. However, you CAN return to mooch money or food off those sims.
- If you are concerned about running out of houses in the neighbourhood to steal from, make sure Story Progression is turned ON. You can steal from the same house if it has a new family in.
- If your sim wants a partner or child, they must have NO income WHATSOEVER, and they are NOT allowed to help swipe.
- Sim Lifespan MUST be set to "Normal: 90 sim days".
- You can ONLY steal from the base-game houses. This makes it fair for everyone, and stops people downloading really expensive houses just for the items.
- You can NEVER return any stolen goods. If you are stuck with 3 cieling lamps from the same house - tough! That's the fun of the game! 
- YOU CAN ONLY STEAL A MAXIMUM OF 5 CARS.
- You must place your three stolen objects into your home as soon as you get back from stealing, unless of course you can't. (For example, you can't place a computer down until you have a desk, so you would have to wait until you get a desk to place the computer down also).

How To Steal

1. Go to a sims house.
2. Ask to go inside.
3. Once sun has set, you will be able to click on the floor near an object and select "Swipe Something". It is RANDOM what object near where you slected your sim swipes. (That adds to the fun of hoping to get a tv for your house, only to get yet ANOTHER dining chair!)
4. Once you have stolen 3 items, go back to your house. Your stolen items will be in the FAMILY INVENTORY, which is accessed through Buy Mode.

(A Theify Tip: I would suggest getting to know the sim whos house you target. This way you can mooch off them, and also ask to stay over. This way you can steal from them when they are asleep - if a sim is in the same room as you, you cannot steal, so you could end up being asked to leave before you get a chance to swipe!)

Once the Challenge is complete, post a screenshot of your house with the worth box on show (This comes up in Buy Mode). If you want, you could also post us a screenshot of your Klepto King!

It will be fun to see who can get the highest worth house!

Addiction

So, my addiction is The Sims 3. I have been simming since the time the first The Sims game came out and even before that I played things like Sim Farm and Sim City. I guess I just love all simulation games.

I got away from playing The Sims 3 there was a lot going on in life and I just didn't have the time for it. But I've gotten back into it now that I have more free time and decided to start blogging about it again. I used to blog a lot when I was playing The Sims 2 and doing The Legacy Challenge. That was so much fun! I  am thinking I may do another legacy, Sims 3 style but I am not sure. I am also going to get back into creating custom content for my Sims as well. I used to do a lot of that with The Sims 2 and want to carry on with it in The Sims 3. I need to learn how to use the new tools to do that as well.

I will also in the days ahead be adding links to some of my favourite Sims 3 websites and might even try to do a daily update on who has cool new stuff. I guess we will see where it all takes us!
